The UPR process has generated two outcomes first; the Government called for a stakeholder dialogue to develop the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights; FIAN Zambia was part of the actors who were involved in the consultations for a National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights. A Community member from Mumbwa presented human rights violations using the case of Amatheon at the meeting. Dangote Industries, ZAMPALM were all invited to the meeting by the convener Ministry of Justice.
In addition, Zambia Environmental Agency (ZEMA) developed guidelines for Pesticide registrations in Zambia and have called for public consultations. Currently, FIAN Zambia is part of the stakeholders who are being consulted by the government.
